Head Guide

at a luxury

lodge

based in

Ntambanana Municipality, KwaZulu‑ Natal . Operating within the

hospitality

and conservation sector, this role is ideal for a passionate and highly skilled Guide who thrives in a Big 5 environment. The Head Guide will lead all guiding operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining the highest standards of

safety , environmental responsibility, and professional hospitality service. This is a senior role suited to a confident leader with strong guiding expertise and the ability to deliver engaging, high‑end safari experiences.

Job Requirements

Proven experience as a Head Guide or Senior Guide in a luxury lodge environment FGASA Level 2 or higher qualification (Level 3 advantageous) Valid Trails Guide qualification with rifle competency essential Strong knowledge of wildlife, ecology, and conservation principles Excellent guest interaction skills, delivering engaging and educational safarisAbility to lead, mentor, and train a guiding team Strong safety awareness and emergency response capability Valid driver’s licence with PDP and First Aid certification Strong communication and interpersonal skills within a hospitality environment Physically fit and comfortable working in a demanding outdoor settingPhotographic experience advantageous, with the ability to assist guests with wildlife photography

Package

Salary: R20 000 per month Live‑in accommodation provided Meals included Work in a premium safari and hospitality environment Opportunity for career growth within the guiding sector
