Professional Civil Engineer / Professional Civil Technologist

Client is a multi-disciplinary company with head office in Umhlanga, South Africa and branches around RSA as well as Mauritius, Kenya and the UK. Our services include engineering, project management, quantity surveying, environmental consulting, management consulting and town planning. Our Civil Engineering Division is looking for a Professionally Registered Civil Engineer or Technologist to be based at our Umhlanga office.In order to be considered for this position, the candidate must: Be a Graduate in BSc Civ Eng / B Eng (Civils) or B Tech (Civil Eng) Be registered as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng (ECSA Registration certificate to accompany application) The ideal candidate would also meet the following criteria: Strong leadership skills and commercial acumen, underpinned by strong technical abilityProfessionally registered with ECSA prior to 2010 Loyal (having worked at only 1 or 2 companies to date, but looking to make a final move for a long term career with Client) Minimum 12 years’ technical experience and 4 years’ team leadership experience (most of which in a consulting engineering firm)Experience in: Roads, earthworks, storm water and sewer - essential Storm water management Pump station design (both sewer and water supply) - desirable Other required skills, abilities and behaviours: Proficient in use of MS Office, Autocad Civil 3D (essential) and IDAS - an advantage Knowledgeable in Hec-ras, GIS, PCSWMM or similar - an advantageKnowledgeable in eThekwini standards - an advantage Problem Solving and Critical Thinking Accurate– with strong attention to detail Confident, with strong interaction / people skills Dynamic and driven – yet humble Even tempered Team player Key result areas for this position (technical and managerial):Technical expertise on civils projects Deliver complete projects through the full project life cycle Client and stakeholder relationship management Project controls Business Development Mentorship of junior engineers Must have a driver’s license and be willing to travel to sites in SA and Africa if requiredPlease note:
