# Mid-Level Social Media Manager**Job Category:****Job Type:****Job Location:****ABOUT THIS ROLE**A dynamic and fast-paced creative agency based in Durban is looking for a Mid-Level Social Media Manager to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an agency environment, understands digital culture, and can confidently manage content, community engagement, reporting, and campaign execution across multiple brands.You will play a key role in shaping online conversations, developing engaging content strategies, managing communities, and supporting creative campaigns that drive meaningful engagement and brand growth.---**WHAT YOU WILL DO**Develop and manage content calendars across multiple social platforms
Write, proofread, and edit engaging social and digital copy aligned with brand tone and identity
Provide platform guidance and recommendations to creative teams regarding trends, updates, and best practices
Assist with creative direction and contribute ideas during campaign and content brainstorming sessions
Schedule and manage content publishing while ensuring accuracy and timing
Manage and respond to online communities across multiple brands in line with SLAs and customer service guidelines
Monitor conversations, engagement, and sentiment across platforms
Assist with crisis communication and escalation management where required
Maintain and update FAQs, influencer lists, and competition documentation
Coordinate and manage social media competitions, including winner communication and prize distribution
Upload and manage website content including blog posts, articles, and banners via CMS platforms
Attend or monitor live events and ensure real-time social coverage where required
Track audience behaviour, competitor activity, and campaign performance to provide actionable insights
Compile and assist with monthly reporting and analytics
Develop content strategies including themes, personas, pillars, and platform approaches
Collaborate with media and partner agencies to support paid media campaigns and activations
Stay informed on industry trends, platform updates, and emerging digital opportunities
Build strong working relationships with clients and internal creative teams---**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**Minimum 3 years’ experience within a social media, digital marketing, or agency environment
Degree or diploma in Marketing, Copywriting, Public Relations, Brand Strategy, Journalism, or similar
Exceptional English writing, proofreading, editing, and copywriting skills
Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and digital culture
Excellent attention to detail and quality control skills
Strong communication and time management abilities
Experience with content planning, scheduling, and community management
Ability to work on multiple brands and campaigns simultaneously
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret social and campaign insights
Experience working with creative teams and contributing to campaign ideation
Strong organisational skills and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
