Site Supervisor - Tree Surgery - Ireland, Durban

A leading vegetation management and arboriculture company based in Ireland is seeking experienced Site Supervisor from South Africa to join their field crews. This is a contract role offering excellent benefits, accommodation. The successful candidate will perform all aspects of tree surgery – including climbing, aerial rescue, pruning, removal, and large‑scale site clearance – while adhering to strict safety policies. The client covers all associated costs – including work permit, visa, and travel for the successful candidate.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• NPTC chainsaw tickets:CS30, CS31, CS38 & CS39 (or equivalent recognised certification)
• Full clean driving licence (HGV licence C or higher is a distinct advantage)
• Proven experience in tree surgery operations and techniques
• Ability to climb competently and perform aerial rescue
• Willingness to work shifts (daytime & nighttime) across regional Ireland
• Valid passport and ability to relocate to Ireland (company assists with sponsorship/work permit where eligible)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform all tree surgery activities as directed by the crew leader
• Tree climbing and aerial rescue
• Grounds work, pruning, removal, and large‑scale site clearance
• Operate machinery and powered equipment safely
• Drive company vehicles (if licenced)
• Adhere to all safety rules and company safety policies
• Communicate effectively with crew members and the crew leader
• Report for duty at designated location on time each day

• Safe completion of daily tree surgery tasks without incident
• Consistency in climbing, pruning, and removal quality
• Adherence to safety policies and use of PPE
• Punctuality and reliability
• Positive team communication and willingness to upskill
