FINANCE MANAGER CA(SA) (Durban, KZN)

National Group are seeking to appoint a versatile, innovative, and energetic Finance Manager CA(SA) to lead the financial function and contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the organisation. Experience within financial services, logistics, telematics, or technology-driven solution environments will be advantageous. The Head of Finance will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong financial management systems, governance frameworks, and operational processes that enable business efficiency, scalability, and compliance. The role requires a balance of strategic leadership and hands-on financial management, ensuring accurate reporting, sound controls, and effective decision-making support across the organisation. This position is based at the company's Head Office in Durban and forms part of the executive leadership team, contributing directly to business strategy, growth initiatives, and operational optimisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Financial Leadership

1. Contribute to the overall strategic direction and growth of the organisation as part of the executive team 

2. Support business expansion initiatives, including new markets, partnerships, and distribution opportunities 

3. Provide financial insight to support executive decision-making and long-term planning 

4. Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities across the business 

Financial Management & Reporting

1. Oversee all financial operations, including management accounting, financial reporting, and statutory compliance 

2. Prepare monthly management accounts, executive reports, and board packs with meaningful analysis and insights 

3. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with accounting standards and internal policies 

4. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes 

5. Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial controls 

Compliance, Governance & Audit

1. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including tax, VAT, PAYE, and income tax submissions 

2. Manage year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors 

3. Ensure adherence to IFRS and applicable financial reporting standards 

4. Maintain internal financial controls and governance frameworks 

Operational Financial Oversight

1. Oversee payroll, creditor and debtor functions, and banking administration 

2. Manage asset registers, asset controls, and financial record accuracy 

3. Review reconciliations, journals, and financial adjustments 

4. Monitor credit control, debt collection processes, and credit risk exposure 

5. Authorise payments and ensure proper banking controls are maintained 

Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement

1. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls 

2. Drive continuous improvement of financial systems and operational efficiency 

3. Optimise use of financial and business systems to support reporting and decision-making 

4. Support integration of financial systems with operational platforms where required 

Leadership & Team Management

1. Lead and develop the finance and shared services teams 

2. Set performance objectives, KPIs, and conduct regular performance reviews 

3. Promote a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative team culture 

4. Support recruitment, training, and professional development initiatives 

Cross-Functional Support

1. Provide financial input into IT, administration, HR, and operational initiatives 

2. Support investor relations, funding requirements, and stakeholder reporting 

3. Participate in strategic projects, including business transformation and optimisation initiatives 

4. Ensure alignment between financial management and operational execution across departments 

REQUIREMENTS

1. Batchelors degree in Finance or Accounting with honours

2. Be a registered CA (SA) (essential)

3. Five years + post CA (SA) experience

4. Five years + Team management experience 

5. FSP, Logistics knowledge, dealership experience (and added advantage)

6. Good knowledge of innovative solutions and technologies

7. Good knowledge of Business Intelligence 

8. Coaching/Quality experience (an added advantage)

9. Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

10. Experience in the banking and/or insurance industry or other FSP (an added advantage)

RUMUNERATION

R80,000 to R120,000 Per Month (Total Cost To Company – Negotiable – Depending On Experience & Qualifications)
