Job Description Purpose: Assists in planning and implementing the pursuit of strategic opportunities by cultivating partnerships or other commercial relationships or by identifying new markets for the entity's products or services. Manage the operational execution of products and solutions for a portfolio of clients to support the delivery of an excellent individual and / or corporate client experience, and the achievement of sales targets.
Critical objectives and responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries within portfolio to maximize financial opportunities.
Obtain and retain business through negotiation on technical issues, quotations, rates and renewals within underwriting guidelines- including complex accounts/special wording type accounts.
Drive the achievement of new and existing business profitability and growth targets by ensuring that services and solutions provided to brokers and / or intermediaries meets or exceeds defined service level agreements across the product/s lifecycle as measured in a performance metrics plan.
Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, mandates, and company retention limits
Actively manage assigned portfolio, focusing on retention and profitability management, with a balance on organic growth after business is obtained.
Organize meetings and support the drive of new and existing revenue streams.
Develop on-going relationships with brokers / intermediaries by completing outbound calls to discuss market appetite, quality of submissions and encourage profitable growth.
Execute outcomes and negotiations associated with the assets valuations process.
Perform risk and contract evaluation on all allocated business using rating guidelines, financial statements, manual rating, experience information (e.g. premium, claims, reserves, and rate history and average exposure) for assigned portfolio.
Research all problems and risk related issues by using initiative in problem solving that involves management in decision making as necessary.
Monitor reports on various reporting platforms.
Monitor unpaid/lapses and cancellation reports.
Assist with PFA queries and tracking of quoting activity.
Assisting with the co-ordination of onboarding for new advisors.
Provide support to RCM.
Experience, knowledge&skills required
Grade 12.
Regulatory Examination (RE)
1– 2 years’ experience in an administrative role.
Relevant Tertiary– or Insurance Qualification.
Extensive knowledge and experience using the Microsoft Office suite, specifically MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience in customer service environment
Experience in Short Term insurance advantageous.
