Staff Nurse– Band 5

Band 5 staff nurse Part time post– 33.75 hours

Location– Ward 108 ECC – Renal Medicine

About the Unit We are recruiting for Band 5 Staff Nurses in acute Renal Medicine– ward 108 ECC. The post involves day and night rotation on a 12‑hour shift pattern. This busy unit has 20 beds (with capacity for 4 additional spaces) and cares for renal patients admitted both electively and as emergency admissions.

Responsibilities

Provide day and night nursing care on a 12‑hour shift pattern.

Manage the 20‑bed unit, including provision for up to four additional beds.

Liaise with the renal dialysis unit on ward 404/405 and accommodate the Acute Dialysis Team within the floor.

Develop leadership, organisational and communication skills.

Maintain confidence with IT and provide a high standard of nursing care.

Motivate and support the nursing team with enthusiasm.

Be flexible to meet the demands of the service, including change of shift pattern and duration at short notice.

Qualifications&Experience

Acceptance of a genuine interest in the specialty of renal medicine.

Valid nursing registration and Band 5 level experience.

Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.

Proficiency with IT systems used in clinical practice.

High standard of nursing care delivery.

Motivational and enthusiastic approach to team support.

Flexibility to adapt to shift pattern changes.
