Process Engineer - Contract, Johannesburg

Our Client a Global tech firm is seeking a Process Engineer to join their team in Johannesburg. They offer stability, growth, attractive rates and an excellent working environment.

As a Process Engineer, you will support the development of new processes and tools for Cobol applications. You will create detailed designs for programs and interfaces to be used by the user community in order to provide consistent end-user experiences. You must have experience with IMS specific Cobol development and understand how to effectively use these tools within an IMS environment; design applications from high level specifications.

Requirements

• Design, develop and oversee the deployment of new IT processes and any changes to the existing IT
• processes
• Define and maintain the IT reference process framework and ensure it is leveraged across
• Create and maintain a centralized repository of process and related artefacts (e.g.,
• procedures, templates and forms
• Identify and implement initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of IT Processes
• Participates in architecture and software development activities
• Uses open source technologies and tools to accomplish specific use cases encountered within the project
• Uses coding languages or scripting methodologies to solve a problem with a custom workflow
• Performs incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field required
• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the field of computer technology
• 5+ years Cobol development experience
• 5+ years IMS specific experience
• Design, develop, and configure code for new programs must have
• Experience in analysis, design and coding
• Proven track record of supporting Test environments Advantageous
• Banking sector experience preferred
• Understanding of Banking business models
