Head of Country Operations (CEO), Johannesburg

An exciting opportunity awaits a dynamic CEO. As the head of operations, you will provide strategic leadership, direct the development of short and long range objectives, policies, business plans for the organization to manage Solar business in South Africa.

You will establish an organization hierarchy and delegate limits of authority to subordinate executives to achieve business objectives.

You will represents the organization to the financial community, industry groups, key customers, representatives of government and regulatory agencies and the general public

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

EXECUTES ON ALL STRATEC FUNCTIONS

• Identify and negotiate key technology partners
• Advise the Group on key strategic matters accurately and timeously. Lead and oversee the implementation of the company's long- and short-term plans in accordance with its strategy
• Looks to the future for change opportunities in Solar Markets. Develop and execute the business Plan
• Assures the organization's mission, programs, products and services are clearly and consistently communicated to all relevant stakeholders
• Ensure that the company is appropriately organized and staffed and have authority to hire and terminate staff as necessary to enable it to achieve the approved strategy

EXECUTES ALL OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS

• Ensures that staff and the Group have sufficient and up to date information on Operational Issues affecting the business.
• Approves strategic resource requirements, methodologies and procedures (for example Finance, Technical, and Human Resources).

FINANCIAL

• Liaise with the Group and monitors the economic and financial environment within South Africa and recommends appropriate action with regards the solar and business
• Works closely with GCFO to ensure clearly defined, systems of internal control and undertakes processes of independent management review to confirm compliance through regular meetings and updates

TECHNICAL OPERATIONS

• Develop a model to either ‘In Source' or ‘Out Source' services that are fundamental to the running of the business and its profitability
• Implement the relevant Operation & Maintenance Services to be offered to the Solar clients

CORPORATE GOVERNANCE, COMPLIANCE, SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND ‘SHEQ'

• Ensuring through the relevant operations staff, the enablement, implementation and compliance of the requisite Company policies and processes; and legal requirements

MARKET INTELLIGENCE AND NETWORKING

• Analyses market intelligence reports and discusses them with the team and agrees on appropriate actions in order to grow solar market share

REGULATOR MANAGEMENT AND COMPLIANCE

• Cultivates good relationships with regulators in the different countries in the region

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Business Management or Engineering
• MBA
• 8- 10 years corporate experience at senior management level
• Passive Infrastructure/Solar industry knowledge
• Operations knowledge/experience
• Knowledge/ experience in a Telecommunications environment
• Knowledge of Strategic Management
