Tower Construction Manager, Johannesburg

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee and manage tower construction from conception to completion
• Development and implementation of best practice acceptance criteria for subcontractors
• Develop, implement and adapt tower construction process and build specification to suite company and client requirements by implementing industry changes as needed
• Plan, coordinate and manage multiple- contractors and construction projects ensuring projects are delivered on time, to quality and within budget
• Analyse and interpret constructions plans against BOM, BOS or BOQ
• Analyse and validate contractor quotations against TSSR and construction plans
• Identify, analyse, manage and mitigate risks
• Monitor construction progress on regular basis and take corrective actions
• Ensure contractors apply quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques on all projects
• Conflict resolution between community, councillors, municipalities and contractors
• Prepare regular internal and external management reports
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the Tower Portfolio Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Formal Degree/Diploma construction management, architecture, engineering or related field
• 5 years' applicable experience demonstrating success in tower construction management
• Advanced knowledge of tower construction management processes, means and methods
• Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
• Expert knowledge in electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for BTS
• Knowledgeable with Microsoft office and project management software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Disciplined, target driven, intuitive and a team player
• Competent in conflict and crisis management
• Leadership and human resources management skills
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Experience managing internal and subcontractor tower crews
• Ability to travel as required to monitor construction activities throughout South Africa
