Senior Copy Writer ( 6 months contract), Johannesburg

We are seeking a Conceptual Senior Copywriter who will be responsible for creating consumer-targeted copy for a diverse range of portfolios. He/she must be experienced in both long-form and short-form writing.  The incumbent MUST be deadline driven, creative, strategic, agile and multi-talented, preferably with some award winning work to produce. The position is for an initial 6 month fixed contract, with possibility for renewal.

Job Purpose

The scope of this job includes creating copy for online media including paid and organic social media, articles, landing pages, microsites, apps, videos, thought leadership articles etc. SEO knowledge is essential. The senior copywriter will have experience in writing copy for prominent brands. The senior copywriter will contribute to the user experience of the customer journey by producing compelling copy with a strong narrative, as well as generating innovative ideas that move the organisation forward. Examples of work will be requested.

Job Responsibilities

• Copy creation across the Bank platforms including web, social and app to engage with consumers in a meaningful way that allows business objectives to be executed
• Editing (Excellent grammar skills imperative)
• Ensuring all copy produced adheres to Client CIs, mission, vision and brand values
• Ensuring adherence to production schedules
• Liaison with various businesses across the organisation regarding content production requirements
• Proofing and quality checks of copy produced by agency partners
• Constant improvement and optimisation of content-creation processes and workflows for the organisation
• Being proactive: constantly recommending ways to improve digital channel performance through innovation
• Stay abreast of latest content-production trends
• Provide input into the CX of various portfolios within the organisation
• Supporting clusters enterprise-wide with pro-active campaign work as and when opportunities arise
• Displaying sound time-management skills through proper use of the organisation's time-tracking software

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

• Matric/Grade 12/National Senior Certificate
• Diploma or degree in Creative Writing/Communication

Preferred Certifications

• Certification in UX Writing, Content Strategy, UX or Design
