Clinical Nurse Specialist ICU, Johannesburg

Our client seeks a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS - ICU) who focuses on the delivery of quality competent nursing care. The incumbent acts as a clinical resource and leader in a particular clinical specialty, performing functions at an advanced level competently and consistently.

• Consultation as a source of expert knowledge
• Clinical teaching of staff learners
• Research
• Leadership

Reporting directly to the Unit Manager and working closely together with him/her to maintain quality in the unit.

SKILLS PROFILE:

Qualifications:

• Professional Nurse and registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Post Basic Qualification in Critical Care
• Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislation

Work Experience:

• Relevant experience in an ICU is essential
• Relevant experience in the nursing discipline would be an advantage
• Relevant experience as a Shift Leader would be an advantage
• Relevant experience as a Trained ICU RN would be an advantage

Knowledge:

• Relevant knowledge in the nursing discipline
• Relevant Knowledge and skill in an ICU
• Relevant Knowledge and skill as an CNS
