IT SUPPORT & SYSTEMS ENGINEER (MCSE), Johannesburg

We are looking for a young, dynamic Systems & Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate MUST HAVE SQL Scripting experience and application/software support. Exposure to Software Development would be highly advantageous.

Primary responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain the efficiency of our applications.
• Experience in providing application support in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensuring effective front-end and back-end functionality of applications.
• Monitoring and completion of all DBA-related Service-desk calls.
• Provide debugging assistance to development staff.
• Troubleshoot and resolve server, database, and data issues.
• Administer Microsoft SQL Server database environments.
• Security maintenance of server and database.
• Maintenance and monitoring of SQL environment.
• Setup & training new customers on the various systems.
• End-user desktop support (Setup & Troubleshooting).
• Maintaining customer backups.
• Support Line-Of-Business (LOB) applications & on-call support.
• Monitor the network and maintain logs as per requirement.
• Managing support requests on the service desk within SLA.

Requirements:

• Matric and MCSE certification.
• Minimum 3 years experience in application support.
• SQL Scripting and SSRS experience.
• Database security & backup and recovery experience advantageous.
