A Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations developer is a professional responsible for creating and customizing business solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365.
The role of the Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations Developer is to help the clients build on their current MS Dynamics 365 solutions by expanding its use across the business through the latest technologies. Responsibilities includes executing designs under the guidance of a solution Architect and enable clients to migrate from on premise environments to D365 online.

Summary of essential job functions
Key Performance Areas (KPA)
Develop and implement customizations, integrations, and extensions to the Dynamics 365 F&O platform using X++, .NET, SQL, and other related technologies.
Design technical solutions to meet business requirements, including customizations to forms, reports, workflows, and business logic within the finance and operations apps in Dynamics 365.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather and analyse requirements and identify opportunities to improve business processes.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, design documents, test plans, and end user documentation.
Work with project managers and other developers to estimate and prioritize development tasks and deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
Work with Application Support and QA to support application issues, changes, and modifications.
Ensure quality and consistency of code through code reviews, testing, and debugging.
Standardize application coding patterns, extensible features, and external integrations.
Continuously stay up to date with the latest Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O developments and technologies and share knowledge with the team.
Maintain best practices for code development and deployment within the D365 environment following company development controls.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Dynamics D365 F&O, Data Lake and Synapse.
Follow the SDLC for your software development and actively contribute to improving and maturing our SDLC procedures, tools and processes.
Engage in problem resolution by providing hands-on and production support as needed

Technical skills required:
Proficient in X++, C#, .NET, SQL Server, and other related technologies. Strong knowledge of the D365 data schema and SQL scripting skills a plus.
In-depth knowledge of Dynamics F&O / AX finance, specifically Finance & Supply Chain Management
Strong understanding of Dynamics 365 F&O architecture, data models, and security models as well a general data base design
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Qualifications and Certification:
Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
Degree or equivalent diploma in Computer Science
Microsoft Dynamics 365: Core Finance and Operations
Microsoft Dynamics 365: Finance and Operations Apps Developer

Experience:
5 – 10 years of experience developing customizations, integrations, and extensions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O
Experience with Azure Data Lake and Azure Synapse Analytics
Experience working with Dynamics modules (online or on-premises), Customer Service or Sales Field Service or Marketing.
Experience with Dynamics 365 F&O development tools, including Visual Studio, LCS, and Azure DevOps.
Experience with agile software development methodologies is a plus.
Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Functions
Experience using PowerBI and Power platform, , C#, JavaScript, ASP.NET 2.0 – 4.0
Power Apps (Model Driven/Canvas) and Power Automate experience
