We are seeking a dynamic and versatile General Manager/Operations Manager to oversee and streamline the operations of our diverse businesses, primarily focusing on our Takealot e-commerce business. This role requires a driven individual capable of improving processes, managing teams, and driving growth while maintaining a hands-on approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will also support strategic planning for our water solutions business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, including technician scheduling, ticket resolution, and client communication.
- Improve and refine current processes to ensure efficiency and scalability.
- Manage and mentor the admin assistant, ensuring accurate invoicing, reporting, and technician oversight.
- Analyze collected data to provide actionable insights to clients and improve service delivery.
- Develop new business by identifying potential property portfolio clients and building relationships with property managers.
- Explore new service offerings (e.g., high-end home maintenance, holiday home management).
Takealot E-Commerce
- Manage day-to-day operations, including stock control, order fulfillment, and responding to Takealot portal queries.
- Analyze sales performance to identify high-performing products and areas for improvement.
- Assist with product research, sourcing, and inventory management.
- Build a ranking system to prioritize inventory investment based on profit margins, return rates, and sales velocity.
- Support packaging, returns, and shipment bookings as needed.
Strategic Growth Support
- Collaborate on potential branding strategies across the businesses.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Strong background in operations and team management, with a proven track record of process improvement.
- Sales experience, particularly in building client relationships and cold outreach.
- Analytical skills to interpret data and make informed decisions to optimize performance.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities to manage diverse responsibilities.
- Experience in the property maintenance, e-commerce, or service industries is advantageous.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., MaintainX, Excel, Takealot portal, Xero).
