This role is critical in shaping MTN’s non‑terrestrial connectivity roadmap, forging global satellite partnerships, and integrating GEO/MEO/LEO systems into MTN’s next‑generation digital infrastructure.

Detailed Job Description As the General Manager of Satellite Business&Partnerships, you will drive the strategic development, commercial growth, and technical integration of satellite and non‑terrestrial network (NTN) technologies across the Bayobab ecosystem. Your work will involve leading multi-market programs, developing strategic alliances with global satellite operators, and overseeing satellite-to-telco integration for connectivity expansion. You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, commercial, and regulatory teams to establish future‑proofed infrastructure that supports MTN’s pan-African digital ambitions. This senior role demands strong technical depth, commercial acumen, and executive leadership capabilities aligned with emerging space‑based technologies.

✅ Key Responsibilities

✓ Lead Bayobab’s end-to-end satellite strategy and partnership ecosystem

✓ Drive commercial and product leadership across wholesale, enterprise, and emerging connectivity markets

✓ Oversee integration of GEO/MEO/LEO satellite systems into MTN’s infrastructure

✓ Manage multi-country programs with cross-functional coordination and governance

✓ Represent Bayobab in strategic partner negotiations with global satellite operators

✓ Lead business planning, investment cases, and long-term satellite roadmaps

✓ Guide regional teams on satellite product development, regulatory readiness, and technology best practices

✓ Strengthen Bayobab’s role in the African and Middle Eastern telecommunications landscape

Required Qualifications&Skills

✓ Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

✓ Master’s degree (MBA, Engineering, or similar) preferred

✓ Relevant professional certifications in satellite, space systems, or NTN technologies

✓ At least 10 years of experience in satellite, telecom infrastructure, or related engineering fields

✓ Demonstrated expertise with GEO/MEO/LEO systems, ground infrastructure, and telco integration

✓ Proven commercial leadership in wholesale, enterprise, or connectivity markets

✓ Strong multi‑market program management experience

✓ Familiarity with African and Middle Eastern regulatory frameworks is an advantage
