Our client, a leading intelligent solutions and data-driven technology business, is seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Analytical Engineer to join their high-performing team based in Sandton, Johannesburg.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in:
  • Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Mathematics
  • Statistics
  • Related field
• Minimum 7+ years' relevant experience
• Advanced SQL expertise (non-negotiable)
• Advanced Python experience (non-negotiable)
• Strong automation experience using:
  • SQL
  • Python
  • Power Automate
• Expert-level process management and process optimisation capability
• Must be based in Gauteng
• Experience leading a team 

Responsibilities:

Data Engineering and Analytics

• Design and develop scalable analytical data models
• Build and optimise data transformation processes
• Develop reusable and structured datasets for analytics and BI reporting
• Implement robust data quality and governance controls

Automation and Optimisation

• Automate workflows and analytical processes
• Improve data processing efficiency and scalability
• Optimise SQL queries and data pipelines for performance

Business Intelligence Support

• Translate business requirements into technical data solutions
• Support reporting, analytics, and advanced data initiatives
• Deliver reliable and high-performance analytical datasets

Process Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives
• Maintain and improve analytical systems and workflows
• Ensure adherence to best-practice engineering standards

Leadership and Collaboration

• Provide acting Team Lead support where required
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams
• Mentor and support junior team members where applicable
