The Security Driver will be responsible for ensuring the client’s safety and timely transportation on a daily basis, while also providing support with office administrative tasks as needed. They will transport client personnel to and from locations in a secure, comfortable, and efficient way.

This role is a contract position for up to 12 months.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Function as a driver within a team of security personnel responsible for the transportation of personnel as per schedules.

Transport staff members to various destinations as and when required, within the boundaries of Control Risks (CR) Security Policies and planning of routes while always ensuring the safety of passengers.

Maintain a close liaison with the Control Risks Security Manager (SM) and ensure a detailed knowledge of the safest routes.

Ensure that the assigned vehicle is fully operational and well‑maintained, including inventory of all necessary communication and emergency equipment such as first‑aid kit, fire extinguisher, spare wheel, wheel‑changing kit, spare keys, torch, spare water, jumper cable and tow rope.

Maintain vehicle logbooks for daily trips and keep records of mileage and fuel consumption of each vehicle.

Ensure that the assigned vehicles are maintained regularly in accordance with service records and, when required, carry out maintenance.

Conduct daily checks (oil, fuel, brakes, tyres, battery, tool kits, etc.) on all assigned vehicles before any trip and report any defects to the SM.

Carry out minor mechanical emergency repairs on vehicles as required.

Maintain close communication with the SM during all movements.

Assist the SM in accomplishing effective protective security coverage for the assigned employee, remain vigilant and alert at all times whilst on duty, and carry out training as needed to meet higher levels of competency.

Ensure that the vehicle is not left unattended while on task and conduct a 360‑degree vehicle sweep before and after any movement.

Keep abreast of tactical operational procedures, emergency and contingency planning of CR procedures for road movements and participate in team training.

Be ready for rapid deployment at any time.

Execute operational procedures and practices dependent on the operational environment, observe all national traffic rules and act in accordance with CR rules regarding vehicle operation and traffic safety.

Assist the SM in the execution of their duties as and where required.

Perform standard driver duties as and when required.

Perform any other tasks as would be required by the SM.

Demonstrate competent driving skills under normal and high‑stress circumstances.

Qualifications

Possess a current PDP licence.

Have accredited advanced driver training (defensive driving).

PSiRA Grade A or B licence.

Hold a valid CPO certificate.

Police clearance certificate.

Record and report advance knowledge and expertise.

High level of concentration and attention.

Accurate observation.

Capable of writing clear and concise reports.

Experienced in route reconnaissance and route planning.

Trained in the use of physical methods of control and restraint.

Experienced in basic communications and radio use/procedures.

Familiarity with basic Microsoft programmes.

Possess English language proficiency.

Ability to perform a variety of repetitive and routine tasks and duties.

Demonstrate excellent knowledge of driving rules, regulations and skills.

Demonstrate excellent knowledge of protocol for drivers.

Demonstrate excellent knowledge of security issues for drivers.

Be proficient in all areas of physical security and secure driver services.
