International Country Specialist, Johannesburg, South Africa

Our client, a global workforce solutions and contract management business, is seeking an experienced International Country Specialist to support international expansion and workforce operations across Europe, the USA, Asia, and Africa.

The organisation specialises in international contractor management, global payroll, immigration support, compliance, mobility management, and workforce solutions for multinational clients operating across multiple regions.

This role is ideally suited to a highly organised and commercially minded professional with hands-on experience in international entity setup, operational compliance, partner management, and global workforce coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the setup and operational readiness of international entities in line with local legal and regulatory requirements.
• Work with local legal advisors, accountants, insurers, payroll providers, and service partners to ensure ongoing compliance and operational support.
• Develop and implement country-specific onboarding, compliance, and operational processes aligned to global standards.
• Manage local stakeholders, partners, and service providers while supporting risk management and regulatory compliance across multiple regions.
• Maintain accurate compliance documentation and support continuous improvement of international operational frameworks.

Requirements

• Relevant degree in Business, Legal, Finance, International Relations, HR, Operations, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years' proven experience in international operations, country expansion, global mobility, compliance, or entity setup.
• Pre-existing knowledge and hands-on experience working across Europe, the USA, Asia, and Africa.
• Strong understanding of international labour legislation, compliance, and global workforce operations.
• Experience working with international legal firms, payroll providers, insurers, immigration specialists, and operational partners.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong project coordination and organisational ability.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced international environment.
• High attention to detail with strong problem-solving capability.
