Job Overview

Our client in the material handling and industrial equipment sector is seeking a results-driven Sales Manager to lead and grow their sales operations in Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, managing a sales team, and developing strong customer relationships within the forklift and material handling equipment market.

This role requires a commercially minded leader who can develop strategic sales initiatives, mentor a sales team, and identify new business opportunities within the territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed branch sales targets

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales representatives

  • Identify new business opportunities and key accounts within the material handling industry

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their equipment and operational requirements

  • Oversee sales forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting

  • Develop and execute sales and marketing initiatives to grow market share

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to refine sales strategy

  • Work closely with service, operations, and management teams to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or relevant experience)

  • Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally within industrial or capital equipment environments

  • Previous sales leadership or management experience

  • Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasting, and account development

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management ability

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

  • Strong commercial and analytical thinking

  • Ability to build long-term client relationships

  • Knowledge of the forklift or material handling industry will be advantageous
