Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Procurement Manager to drive procurement operations within a fast-paced pharmaceutical and manufacturing environment. This opportunity is ideal for a commercially astute professional who can ensure uninterrupted supply, maintain compliance with industry regulations, and build strong supplier partnerships while contributing to operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the continuous supply of raw materials, packaging, and services. Source, negotiate, and manage local and international suppliers. Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO , SAHPRA, and regulatory procurement requirements. Manage supplier approvals, audits, specifications, and performance evaluations. Collaborate with Production and Warehouse teams to maintain optimal inventory levels. Support demand planning, stock forecasting, and business continuity initiatives. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and manage procurement budgets. Coordinate import and export activities, customs processes, and shipping documentation. Support internal and external audits and contribute to new product development initiatives. Lead and develop the procurement team to achieve operational targets and high performance standards.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Purchasing Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Procurement. Additional qualifications in CIPS, Shipping, or Import & Export Management will be advantageous. Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement or supply chain management within pharmaceutical, FMCG, or medical manufacturing environments. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior procurement or management role. Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and cost optimisation. Strong ERP systems experience such as SAP, Oracle, Syspro, or similar. Strong understanding of import/export processes, customs clearance, and incoterms. Excellent negotiation, analytical, organisational, and leadership skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure within a regulated environment.
