Locum Pharmacists, Johannesburg

A leading pharmaceutical production environment is seeking an experienced Locum Pharmacist to support anti-venom manufacturing operations within a regulated production facility.

The successful candidate will oversee production activities to ensure efficient output, compliance with SAHPRA and GMP standards, and adherence to aseptic manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee pharmaceutical production operations within a sterile manufacturing environment
• Ensure compliance with SAHPRA, GMP, OHSA, and quality standards
• Support aseptic processing and sterilization procedures
• Monitor production systems including HVAC, autoclaves, and water systems
• Assist with validations, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency initiatives
• Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to production protocols

Requirements

• B.Pharm Degree (NQF Level 8)
• Registered Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council
• Minimum 5 years’ pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
• At least 1 year exposure to aseptic processing
• Strong knowledge of GMP, sterilization methods, and validation processes
• Understanding of water systems, HVAC systems, and autoclaves
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
