National Facilities Manager: Industrial, Johannesburg

A leading organisation is seeking an experienced National Facilities Manager: Industrial to drive the strategic management, maintenance, compliance, and operational performance of facilities across multiple regions. This role is suited to a high-performing professional who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on operational excellence while ensuring assets are proactively managed throughout their lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will take ownership of national facilities management operations, including proactive maintenance planning, project management, service contract negotiations, CAPEX and OPEX budget oversight, compliance management, and sustainability initiatives. The role will also focus on leading Facilities Management teams, strengthening stakeholder relationships, ensuring statutory compliance, and driving service delivery excellence across all sites. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in facilities and project management within industrial environments, combined with strong financial acumen, technical expertise, and leadership capability. A solid understanding of building systems, mechanical and electrical infrastructure, OHS legislation, SLA management, and asset lifecycle planning is essential. Candidates should possess excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to deliver results in high-pressure environments.

Requirements:

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Facilities Management, including at least 5 years at senior management level. Proven experience in end-to-end Facilities and Project Management. Strong knowledge of OHS legislation, statutory compliance, and building systems. Experience managing budgets, service providers, SLA performance, and operational risk. Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent. Artisan trade qualification and ECSA membership advantageous. Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
