Key Responsibilities: Assemble, install, and maintain underground mining machinery, including trackless mobile machines (TMMs), loaders, and drilling equipment, ensuring compliance with OEM specifications and safety standards. Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults in diesel-powered mining equipment, using diagnostic tools and technical manuals. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Strip, clean, inspect, and reassemble components such as engines, transmissions, torque converters, axles, and hydraulic systems. Perform quality control checks and functional testing on all repaired or newly assembled equipment before deployment. Maintain accurate service records and report on parts usage, repairs, and equipment condition. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all maintenance and repair activities. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve equipment performance and reliability. Stay updated on new technologies and participate in ongoing training related to underground mining machinery.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements: Trade-tested Fitter or Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal certified). Minimum 3–5 years’ experience working with underground mining equipment (e.g., LHDs, drill rigs, utility vehicles). Proven experience in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Familiarity with trackless mobile machinery (TMM) and OEM standards.
