Intermediate Full Stack Software Developer, Johannesburg

ROLE SUMMARY The Intermediate Full Stack Developer should be proficient in delivering on all areas of the SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle). They will be responsible for developing and improving business automation systems and delivering solutions to customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

Diploma or a related qualification in Software Development

Preferred:

Degree in B. Eng. / B.Sc. / B. Com relating to IT or Software Development

EXPERIENCE

3 to 6 years of relevant software development experience

Experience mentoring junior developers

Experience with any of the following:

Client Server / .Net Remoting / Windows Services

C# / .Net

Angular / React (advantageous)

XML / JSON

Agile / Scrum environments

Extensive experience with:

Relational as well as non-relational databases (Cosmos and MSSQL advantageous)

Message brokers (RabbitMQ / Azure Service Bus / AWS EventBridge / etc.)

Cloud platforms (Azure advantageous)

Rest APIs

Microservice architecture

Troubleshooting performance bottlenecks.

Debugging production issues in high availability systems.

Integrating with 3rd party systems

Git version control

Advantageous:

CI/CD Pipelines and deployment processes

Elasticsearch

Azure Durable Function Apps

Azure DevOps

Experience working with international teams across different time zones.

SKILLS&KNOWLEDGE

Good written and verbal communication skills (English)

Good working knowledge and understanding of the following:

System Engineering&Design

Typescript-based response websites

Cloud Engineering practices

Background in finance, working across invoicing, claims and insurance environments

Develop a test environment before deployment.

Provide training material for training manual amendments.

Agree on deployment date and rollout requirements.

Deploy system changes.

Track user feedback and system stability for final signoff.

Gain list of requirements from third parties.

Develop methods to provide information to third parties.

Develop test environment to provide third parties.

Run testing and monitoring with third parties.

Agree rollout plan to live environment.

Rollout, test and monitor within live environment.

Third-party development (External)

Evaluate the list of business requirements.

Determine where requirements fit best within the system process.

Develop a strategy around placement of development.

Understand third-party requirements for processing.

Develop methods to process requests to third-party.

Develop internal testing environment for signoff.

Agree on deployment plan for rollout.

Roll out, test, and monitor within a live environment.

System Framework

Develop framework and coding standards to be followed.

Implement and maintain version control.

Implement and maintain deployment methodology.
