Senior Cloud Solutions Architect - Enterprise Migrations&AI, Johannesburg

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect to join our thriving technical community and growing business. You will be part of the South African SA team at our Johannesburg office. As a member of our supportive team, you'll work to bring cloud computing technologies to large enterprise servicescustomers.

Key job responsibilities In your role as an AWS Solutions Architect, you'll take ownership of the technical relationship with customers, providing expert recommendations on solution design, migration strategies, security, and best-practice architectures. Your influence will extend beyond customer interactions as a trusted advisor, as you'llalso act as an internal advocate, driving continuous improvements to the AWS platform based on customer needs and feedback. You'll contribute to the AWS knowledge base by creating and sharing best practices, technical content, new reference architectures and re-usable artifacts (e.g. white papers, code samples,blog posts). Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in educating and evangelizing about AWS technology through various channels, helping to expand our reach and influence in the industry. (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences). You are an experienced technology leader and bring a strong business acumenand builder mindset, with the ability to move fast, experiment, and drive innovation, particularly in emerging technologies like Generative AI and Agentic AI. Above all, we're looking for individuals with a passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning in this rapidly evolving industry.Basic Qualifications

- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data&analytics) experience - Experience in computer architecture, or experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems - 2+ years of development or technical support experience - Experience engaging and influencing senior executives, demonstrating a strong familiarity with decision-making processes in enterprise customers- Experience engaging with and influencing C-level executives - Experience using English communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster seamless interaction with stakeholders at all levels - Development, Machine Learning or Data Engineering&Analytics) Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a customer-facing role - Experience in any of the following: Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering or DevOps - Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud- Experience with AWS technologies and cloud native architectures - Experience implementing Generative AI in an enterprise context - Cloud Technology Certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional) or other industry certifications
