Process Control & Automation Engineer, Turffontein

Key Responsibilities System Programming: Assist in developing and troubleshooting PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) software. Process Optimization: Analyze plant data to identify inefficiencies, optimize control loops, and improve overall production throughput. Instrumentation & Hardware: Learn to calibrate, test, and maintain industrial instrumentation (sensors, valves, drives). Project Support: Help draft technical documentation, functional design specifications (FDS), and assist with on-site system commissioning. Safety Compliance: Ensure all automation designs adhere to heavy industry safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree (BSc / BEng) in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, or Chemical Engineering. Knowledge Base: Strong foundational understanding of control theory, feedback systems, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP). Software Skills: Familiarity with engineering software such as Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell RSLogix, or MATLAB/Simulink. Mindset: A keen eye for detail, strong problem-solving capabilities, and a high regard for plant safety. Other: Driver's license and own transport as you will required to travel between plants
