A South African financial services group that provides comprehensive financial advice and solutions, including wealth management, risk management, and investment services, to individuals, businesses, and institutional clients, is seeking an IT Project Manager who will be responsible for the
end-to-end management
of technology projects, ensuring solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Responsibilities
Establish project objectives, deliverables, and scope, creating detailed project plans.
Input into the overall estimating process and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define work effort, timescales, and budget.
Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from initiation to implementation, ensuring adherence to time, budget, and quality criteria.
Develop and maintain an end-to-end portfolio plan.
Act as the central point of communication between stakeholders and the project team, providing regular progress reports.
Identify, manage, and mitigate risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID log). Make fact-based recommendations for mitigation.
Manage project budgets, including reviewing, evaluating, and approving quotes against allocated funds and monitoring actual costs.
Implement a Quality Management Plan and ensure the delivery of high-quality project outcomes.
Manage changes and track impediments using a change management system.
Facilitate tender processes, proposals, and contract signing.
Support operational readiness planning and resource management.
Conduct necessary meetings (kick-off, progress, debriefs, etc.) and facilitate post-implementation reviews to capture and share lessons learned.
Maintain and build strong relationships with all project stakeholders.
Lead, manage, and motivate hybrid remote teams across multiple geographic locations.
Ensure team accountability and foster a collaborative, positive environment with open communication.
Provide coaching, advice, and support for performance management where necessary.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement and actively contribute to the PM community by sharing best practices.
Minimum Requirements
Relevant University degree (B.Sc. / B. Com or similar).
PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.
Minimum 8– 12 years in project management.
Preferably in the Financial Services sector.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
