Senior Compliance Officer, Johannesburg

Our client is a leading commercial/corporate non‑life insurer and in this role, you’ll partner with some of the brightest minds in the industry to help drive a culture of integrity, proactive risk management, and business excellence.

You’ll work alongside the Head of Compliance to design, implement, and enhance enterprise‑wide compliance frameworks that ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, manage regulatory relationships, and provide strategic guidance across multiple business units. Your expertise will directly influence how the company anticipates and navigates regulatory change.

To thrive in this position, you bring at least 7–10 years of progressive compliance or risk management experience, including 3–5 years at a senior level within the short‑term insurance industry. A relevant degree (NQF 7 in fields like law, finance, business administration, or risk management) is essential, and being FSCA‑approved and REaccredited will set you apart. Other experience required includes working with regulatory agencies, a proven track record of developing and implementing successful compliance programs and conducting compliance investigations and managing remediation efforts.
