The Opportunity This position works out of our Roodepoort Offices, Abbott Place in the Established Pharmaceutical Division where we are committed to bringing the benefits of our trusted medicines to more people in the world’s fastest-growing countries. Our broad portfolio of high-quality and differentiated branded generic medicines reaches across multiple therapeutic areas including gastroenterology, women’s health, cardiometabolic, pain management/central nervous system, and respiratory.

What You’ll Do

Design appropriate strategy to achieve sales goals and targets in assigned territory.

Achievement of sales, market share and growth objectives in the region.

Maintain high customer call rate, strike rate and territory coverage target.

Compile and update sales operating plan for region.

Identify new business opportunities.

Arrange and run CME events.

Establish and maintain KOL relationships in the area.

Attend all relevant trade conferences as required.

Attend cycle meetings and conferences.

Must complete country trips and day trips in the area.

Qualifications and Expertise

Education:

A degree in Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Human Physiology, Marketing, or a related field is essential.

Experience:

Minimum of 2-3 years in doctor detailing.

Experience with GPs and specialists in the East Rand area. Strong experience in Gastro and/or Respiratory is an advantage.

Strong sales track record and sound organizational skills.

Knowledge and relationships with key stakeholders in the region an advantage.

Established KOL relationships and specialist relationships an advantage.

Good communicator and self-motivated.

Business planning acumen and ability.

Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
