Product Presales Engineer, Johannesburg

Role Overview:
We are seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented Product Presales Engineer to support product positioning, technical sales activities, and solution development within the video surveillance and security technology industry. The successful candidate will act as a technical advisor to the sales team, assist with product launches, and provide product expertise to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and review technical materials related to product launches
• Support and represent company products at industry trade shows and events
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations to sales teams based on customer requirements and solution capabilities
• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, specifications, and solution overviews
• Conduct testing and comparisons of company and competitor products to support marketing and product positioning initiatives
• Assist with creating compelling technical and marketing messaging for products and solutions
• Support customer engagements by presenting technical information clearly and professionally
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve product positioning and customer experience

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in technical sales, sales support, sales engineering, or product marketing within the video surveillance or security industry
• Strong technical knowledge of CCTV equipment, including storage, transmission, intercom, and access control systems
• Experience creating visual and technical presentation materials
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to present information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Project management experience
• Proficiency in Adobe products, including Photoshop, video editing/creation tools, and PowerPoint
• Experience testing and comparing products to support marketing initiatives and
product positioning
