Head of Digital and Technology Transformation, Johannesburg

The Head of Digital & Technology Transformation leads the digital transformation agenda for Hollard Insure, a broker-led business where intermediary relationships are the primary growth and revenue engine. The role aligns emerging technology, AI enablement, process transformation, and broker and customer experience initiatives to measurable business outcomes, while driving strategic delivery programmes including Project Athena.

The role serves as a strategic enabler for the CIO function, accelerating organisational transformation, enabling innovation, improving operational effectiveness, and building future-ready digital capability. The incumbent operates as a transformation orchestration and enablement capability, influencing across business and technology without directly owning infrastructure, software engineering delivery, or PMO functions.

Key Performance Areas:

 Broker Digital Enablement and Intermediary Experience

• Drive the broker digital enablement strategy aligned to business growth objectives
• Lead development and optimisation of broker-facing digital platforms and APIs
• Enhance broker onboarding, adoption, and productivity through technology
• Establish feedback loops to inform digital roadmap prioritisation

 Project Athena Strategic Transformation Delivery

• Lead and enable delivery of Project Athena transformation outcomes
• Align Athena workstreams with broader business and digital strategy
• Coordinate cross-functional delivery and remove organisational blockers
• Ensure tracking of programme performance through defined KPIs

 Digital Transformation and Innovation

• Drive enterprise-wide digital transformation aligned to strategic objectives
• Translate business strategy into executable transformation roadmaps
• Lead innovation initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and value delivery
• Establish metrics to track transformation value realisation

 Business Process and Operational Transformation

• Support execution of cross-functional transformation initiatives
• Coordinate dependencies and ensure delivery momentum
• Drive operational improvements through structured transformation interventions

AI, Automation and Emerging Technology

• Identify and prioritise high-value AI and automation opportunities
• Support implementation of AI-assisted productivity and engineering initiatives
• Influence AI governance, standards, and responsible innovation frameworks

Customer and Digital Experience

• Improve digital adoption and self-service capabilities across customer channels
