Role Overview
The Network Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing the company’s network infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure communication. The role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams to support networking needs and plays a critical role in ensuring network reliability, performance, and security.Key Responsibilities
Identify problems and errors before or when they occur. Routinely identify common incidents and opportunities for avoidance and incidence reduction. Investigate first‑line incidents assigned and identify root causes. Report and escape issues to third‑party vendors. Fulfil approved requests following agreed procedures.Provide telephonic or chat support to clients when required. Follow handover procedures for shift changes to ensure service continuity. Report and escape incidents where necessary. Ensure efficient and comprehensive resolution of incidents and requests. Proactively identify work optimisation opportunities.Update existing knowledge articles or create new ones. Identify opportunities for automation of work, request fulfilment, incident resolution, and other process improvements. Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
Excellent attention to detail. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to plan activities well in advance and consider changing circumstances. Ability to maintain a positive outlook at work. Ability to work well in a pressurised environment. Willingness to work hard and put in longer hours when necessary.Active listening skills, including paraphrasing, probing, and not interrupting. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Client‑centric mindset, understanding client requirements and creating a positive experience. Academic Qualifications
Diploma, degree or relevant qualification in IT/Computing (or equivalent work experience). Experience
At least 2–4 years of work experience, including at least 2 years administering and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices. Certifications
ITIL Foundation Level (or equivalent). CCNA. CCNP. Knowledge of Cisco IOS, Wireless, SDWAN, routing, LAN‑WAN is advantageous. Workplace
