Senior Manager– Internal Audit At PwC, our internal audit team focuses on providing independent and objective assessments of financial statements, internal controls, and other assurable information, enhancing the credibility and reliability of this information for stakeholders and ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance frameworks. We help clients build, optimise and deliver end‑to‑end internal audit services across all industries – from IA function setup and transformation to co‑sourcing, outsourcing and managed services – leveraging AI and other risk technology to address the fullspectrum of risks. As a Senior Manager you will be a strategic advisor, influencing, coaching and leading high‑performing, diverse and inclusive teams to solve complex problems, apply sound judgment and communicate clear, compelling solutions that support our firm’s success.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop analytical solutions that help clients detect, monitor and predict risk.

Establish and maintain sound client relationships.

Manage the internal audit transformation and digitisation team, including coaching and development of staff on site.

Go to market activities and identify new potential work in business and risk management, compiling proposals.

Manage work in progress, budgets and debtors.

Training, coaching, development and mentoring of junior staff.

Staff management and performance appraisals.

Craft and convey clear, impactful and engaging messages that tell a holistic story.

Apply systems thinking to identify underlying problems and opportunities.

Validate outcomes with clients, share alternative perspectives, and act on client feedback.

Direct the team through complexity, demonstrating composure through ambiguous, challenging and uncertain situations.

Deepen and evolve your expertise with a focus on staying relevant.

Initiate open and honest coaching conversations at all levels.

Make difficult decisions and take action to resolve issues hindering team effectiveness.

Management consulting experience in strategy and analytics, with familiarity in applying data and analytics to solve business strategy questions for clients.

Articulate and passionate verbal communication– comfortable communicating with all stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

7 years’ experience in internal audit.

Experience in external consulting.

Experience in data‑driven audits, AI and/or IT audit.

Well‑developed writing skills.

Fluent in both English and Afrikaans.

Strong presentation skills– written and verbal.

Management consulting experience in strategy and analytics.

Storytelling– building storyboards and other presentations targeted at senior business audiences.

Articulate and passionate verbal communication– comfortable communicating with all stakeholders.

Qualifications

Honours in BComm Internal Audit / B Tech degree in Internal Audit / Honours in BComm Accounting.

Qualification in CA(SA) or CIA or CISA.
