Warehouse Operator Assistant, Johannesburg

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Operator Assistant to join our Production Support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining an organised and compliant warehouse and vault environment, supporting dual-control processes, and ensuring that all materials, cards, and documentation are handled in accordance with G+D's operational and security standards.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

The key responsibilities of the position are as follows, but not limited to:Ensure all materials are correctly packed and labelled in the Warehouse and Vault.Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the Warehouse and Vault at all times.Advise and assist the Security Intern with waste removal where required.Ensure all card and paper waste is shredded in accordance with compliance procedures.Inspect and file job cards accurately.Perform 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) to maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment.Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks.Maintain accurate records of inventory and shipments, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.Adhere to all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, company policies, and security protocols.Report any potential safety hazards or environmental risks to the appropriate personnel.Actively participate in EHS training sessions and support sustainability initiatives.Serve as a partner in dual-control processes, ensuring compliance with operational requirements.To also ensure that their job goals are completed by striving for Quality, Trust and Security at all times.

MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Matric / Grade 12 Certificate.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

1 year previous experience in a warehouse or similar operational environment is advantageous.Strong organisational and time management skills.Must be physically fit and able to climb ladders and carry heavy boxes/crates.
