Our client in the mining sector is looking for a Mining Engineer to join their team.

Location: Postmasburg (Northern Cape).

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering.

2 years’ Supervisory or Management Experience.

6 years’ Mine Engineering experience within an open cast mining environment.

Professional Status: ECSA (advantageous).

System Skills: Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Microsoft Office, Mine Planning Software, Geology Software.

Behavioral: business acumen, leadership skills, relationship building skills, results driven personality and change management skills.

Valid code B driving license.

Duties and Responsibilities

Business intelligence and trend analyses.

Functional process optimization.

Provide strategic functional direction.

Promote statutory compliance.

Plan, implement, control and monitor approved changes.

Interpret mining operational plan and production results.

Implement operations effectiveness model and practice.

Provide input into functional planning.

Remain up to date with micro- and macro-economic conditions.

Analyze production asset performance trends against required objectives, implement corrective actions where needed.

Internal and external stakeholder relations.

Provide highly specialized support to various stakeholders.

Participate in and contribute to the workforce planning process.
