Automation Product Specialist - Kolomela, Postmasburg

Mission of the role As the Automation Product Specialist, you are the driving force behind the performance and commercial success of autonomous drilling solutions—translating technical expertise into operational excellence, protected revenue, and enduring customer partnerships.

Your Mission

Serve as the technical authority for Pit Viper autonomous drill rigs, supporting advanced troubleshooting and system performance optimisation.

Drive autonomous drilling performance, ensuring high reliability, uptime, and seamless integration with digital and automation systems.

Lead product lifecycle management, identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency, productivity, and equipment performance.

Partner with customers and commercial teams to deliver value-based solutions, ensure contract fulfilment, and strengthen long‑term relationships.

Build internal capability through training, coaching, and knowledge sharing across technical teams and sites.

Monitor and report on equipment performance and contract KPIs, using data insights to drive continuous improvement and inform leadership reporting.

Support broader business requirements in line with Epiroc’s operational standards and ways of working.

Your Profile

Grade 12 and trade qualification required.

N6 engineering diploma advantageous.

Minimum 5 years’ experience in mining equipment, product management, or technical leadership roles.

Strong technical knowledge of Epiroc surface drill rigs and/or other OEM drill rigs.

Advanced understanding of automation systems, RCS, and digital mining technologies (highly advantageous).

Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.

Proficient level knowledge and experience using MS Office.

Location Postmasburg, Northern Cape.
