Our Client a Global Tech firm is seeking a Infrastructure Operations engineer / Technical Consultant to join their team in Rustenburg on a contract basis . They offer stability, growth, attractive salary and a great working environment.

The Infrastructure Operations engineer will be responsible for the preparation and support of IT operations solutions and services with extensive knowledge of IT Infrastructure delivery and support, data center technologies including SAN storage and servers, networking including security, and virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-V standalone and Failover Clustering and VMWARE– all in accordance to industry and organizational best practices standards, service requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs) throughout the product life cycle.

Requirements

1. Planning, implementing, and maintaining system configuration
2. Documenting technical specifications, configurations, and processes
3. Fully understands, supports and upholds key departmental processes (e.g. Incident management, Change management, Asset management)
4. Detailed knowledge of, along with experience in, the implementation and maintenance of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Windows 2008 to Windows 2019 servers
5. Managing server virtualization technologies (Microsoft Hyper-V standalone and Failover Clustering and VMWARE)
6. Microsoft Exchange (2013 to Exchange Online) setup, administration, and configuration
7. Experience of enterprise level system monitoring, software deployment and compliance tools.
8. ·A solid understanding of Cloud infrastructure and configuring VPN connections to on Prem.
9. Infrastructure backups
10. Office365 and Microsoft Azure
11. Sound knowledge of IT Security principles
12. Antivirus management skills
13. Good understanding of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP and common network protocols
14. Scripting skills (eg: PowerShell) and experience working with provisioning/configuration automation and orchestration tooling for managing distributed server environments
15. Administration of Windows on premise and Cloud technologies
16. Management of Windows Active Directory
17. Management of Exchange on-prem and Office365
18. Management and patching of VMWare platforms
19. Provide support and guidance on the overall Microsoft Office 365 suite
20. SAN management
21. Good understanding of Veritas NetBackup solutions
22. Performs 3rd line technical support, performing analytical, problem solving, research and testing activities to resolve/fulfil requests at an expert level to meet resolution/workaround targets.
23. Install, maintain, and monitor systems running on both physical hardware and virtualized environments.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field required
2. Minimum 5 years' experience in corporate operations & information technology field.
3. 15-20 years' experience with general server management, able to check servers, assist with application issues, assist with resource check and allocation.
4. Basic SQL skills
5. Microsoft certifications such as MCSE and any associate level network, virtualization, or storage certifications
6. Expertise and extensive hands-on experience with installation, configuration and troubleshooting in Windows server and infrastructure services (eg: installing monitoring or security agents) in virtualized (VMware) and non-virtualized environments
