Registered Nurse - Surgical Ward Northern Sydney Local Health District Hornsby, Sydney NSW Nursing - General Medical and Surgical (Healthcare and Medical) Government - State (Government and Defence) Casual/Vacation, Full time Hornsby Hospital’s Acute General Surgical ward provides an environment where you can enhance your clinical skills to develop and strengthen expertise in various clinical procedures. Where you’ll be working: Our Acute General Surgical ward is a 28 bed unit consisting of general surgical, gynaecological, vascular, and plastic surgeries. You will be working as part of a hardworking, dedicated, and friendly surgical multi-disciplinary team. What you’ll be doing: The Registered nurse applicant will be working in a busy, fast paced ward environment, caring for adult patients with a wide range of surgical presentations. This is a challenging and rewarding role supported by a structured training pathway designed by the Clinical Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Consultant. People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply. Candidates will need to meet the following criteria: Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Current clinical knowledge and clinical problem solving ability. A commitment to excellence in nursing practice and continuing professional development. Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team. An understanding of the professional, ethical and legal requirements of the Registered Nurse.
