Work setting Various Locations Commercial Institutional Residential Relocation costs not covered by employer Responsibilities: Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems Prepare tenders and quotations Instruct apprentices Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing Estimate costs and materials Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Occupational Health and Safety Certificate Plumber Red Seal Certificate Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate Additional information Transportation/travel information Valid driver's licence Work conditions and physical capabilities Physically demanding Bending, crouching, kneeling Hand-eye co-ordination Handling heavy loads Own tools/equipment Tools Safety equipment/gear Steel-toed safety boots Hard hat Personal suitability Accurate Client focus Efficient interpersonal skills Excellent oral communication Judgement Team player Benefits Health benefits Dental plan Disability benefits Health care plan Paramedical services coverage Vision care benefits Until: 2026-03-24
