Dry Cleaning Assistant, All Rounder BKH Dry Cleaning and Alteration Drummoyne, Sydney NSW Cleaning Services (Trades and Services) Full time 30 to 45 per hour Dry Cleaning Assistant / All-Rounder Location: Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre Employment Type: Full-time or Part-time About the Role We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Dry Cleaning Assistant to support daily operations in a busy retail dry cleaning store. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that combines service, garment care, and operational responsibilities. You’ll be responsible for ensuring garments are handled, cleaned, and returned to customers in excellent condition, while also delivering a smooth and professional customer experience. Key Responsibilities Customer Service Greet and assist customers with drop-offs and pick-ups Assess garments and explain cleaning options, pricing, and turnaround times Handle customer enquiries, requests, and basic complaints professionally Garment Handling and Sorting Tag, sort, and organise garments based on cleaning method and priority Identify fabric types and note special care requirements (e.g. delicate, stain treatment) Cleaning and Machine Operation Operate dry cleaning and laundry machines safely and efficiently Follow cleaning procedures and chemical handling guidelines Monitor loads to ensure quality outcomes Pressing and Finishing Iron, steam, and press garments to a high standard Perform quality checks before packaging Packaging and Order Management Pack garments neatly and accurately Ensure orders are complete and ready for collection on time Store Operations Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace Assist with stock (e.g. hangers, packaging materials) Follow workplace health and safety procedures What We’re Looking For Strong attention to detail and care for handling garments Good communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Reliable, punctual, and responsible Willingness to learn (training provided) Experience in dry cleaning, laundry, or garment care Experience in retail or customer service Working Conditions On your feet for extended periods Handling heat, steam, and cleaning equipment Weekend availability is required What We Offer Training and support Stable hours in a consistent retail location Opportunity to develop practical operational skills
