Job Purpose The PIT Technician will be responsible for ensuring system integrity, maximum availability, and performance of all information systems as per customer expectations. The role involves maintaining, optimizing, and supporting infrastructure hardware, software, and applications, with a core focus on implementing camera technologies, improving network technologies, and installing and maintaining PIT IIT systems.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Support, monitor, test, and troubleshoot hardware.
Automate management tasks and streamline processes within the team.
Resolve cross‑functional technical issues.
Diagnose and resolve faults using industry‑standard tests.
Explain technical solutions to non‑technical staff.
Gain in‑depth knowledge of monitoring and diagnosing technical problems.
Adhere to SOPs and documentation standards.
Maintain professionalism and positive attitude with personnel, clients, and vendors.
Assist in inventory and asset management for IIT resources.
Stay updated on technological advancements.
Comply with Health&Safety requirements.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Internal Processes
Meet SLA requirements.
Adhere to internal and external customer policies and code of conduct.
Communication&Working Relationships Internal:
Supervisors, Team Members, Other Practices and Service Lines, Peers within BU.
External:
Customers, Consultants, Service Providers.
Qualifications, Experience&Skills Education:
Completed Grade 12.
CCTV training courses (advantageous).
Experience:
Minimum 4 years relevant technical experience.
Strong technical leadership and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Driver's license.
Comfortable working at heights, near large machinery, and in hot/cold/dusty environments.
Business Acumen:
Strategic thinking, commercial mindset, methodical problem‑solving.
Delivery:
Effective planning, prioritization, and resource utilization.
Teaming:
Collaboration, stakeholder satisfaction, and relationship building.
