Our client is a boutique luxury retreat located in the Cradle of Humankind, Kromdraai Valley. Rooted in nature, regenerative farming, and slow living, they offer an intimate property experience featuring thoughtfully designed accommodation, seasonal farm-to-table dining, and curated wellness experiences.

This is a newly internalised, on-site role designed for a confident, hands‑on professional who will transition the finance function from external consultants to a dedicated internal department. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Financial Manager will be a key member of the leadership team, bringing financial clarity and rigour to a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting&Management Accounts: Preparing monthly management accounts (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow) and providing actionable financial commentary for operational decision‑making.

Revenue&Hospitality Reporting: Tracking key hospitality metrics such as occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and GOP across accommodation, F&B, events, and wellness.

Budgeting&Forecasting: Leading the annual budgeting process and preparing rolling monthly forecasts and variance analyses.

Cash Flow&Treasury: Managing day‑to‑day banking, weekly cash flow forecasting, and overseeing supplier payments.

Tax&Statutory Compliance: Ensuring timely submission of VAT returns, provisional tax, annual income tax, and CIPC annual returns.

Payroll&Expenses: Overseeing the Payroll Administrator to ensure accurate monthly payroll, PAYE submissions, and COIDA payments.

Systems&Controls: Serving as the custodian of Xero, maintaining data integrity, and implementing internal controls appropriate for a small business.

Audit&Insurance Managing the year‑end audit process and annual reviews of business insurance cover.

Requirements

Education: A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is preferred.

Professional Registration: Membership with a professional body such as SAICA, CIMA, or SAIPA is considered advantageous.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a financial management or senior accounting role with demonstrable end‑to‑end ownership of a finance function.

Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in hospitality, tourism, F&B, or an entrepreneurial, owner‑managed business environment is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills: Essential proficiency in Xero (or a comparable cloud‑based platform) and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Attributes: A high ownership mindset, commercial curiosity, and the ability to work independently in a small, non‑corporate team environment.
