Metallurgical Foreman, Krugersdorp

Hire Resolve's client, a leading mining company, is currently seeking a skilled Metallurgical Foreman to join their team based in the Krugersdorp, Gauteng.

Requirements

Senior Certificate (Grade 12)

Supervisory course or First line manager course

Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in metallurgy / related field.

Min 5 years’ experience in metallurgical operations, with demonstrated proficiency in processing plant operation, maintenance management and planning.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations within the plant during your shift, following MTR Operations Safety Standards, Policies, and MHSA procedures.

Communicate clearly with staff and various disciplines to promote understanding and adherence to instructions and regulations.

Hold regular team meetings to discuss production, safety, and work-related matters, fostering a culture of collaboration.

Provide clear directives and offer guidance to the team in addressing problem areas.

Plan, lead, organize, and oversee operations within the designated area, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

Carry out all reasonable and non-routine tasks assigned by the Plant Manager or Senior Metallurgist.

Manage process conditions and prioritize breakdowns to ensure timely repairs and minimize production downtime.

Maintain sufficient critical spare parts inventory on-site to facilitate quick replacements.

Track and document process equipment maintenance, ensuring compliance with maintenance schedules and standards.
