Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join the Krugersdorp, Gauteng team,

Responsibilities

Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies for extrusion and compounding equipment (single‑screw, twin‑screw extruders, pelletisers, feeders, dosing systems, downstream equipment).

Ensure maximum plant uptime and equipment reliability through proactive maintenance planning.

Manage breakdowns, root cause analysis (RCA), and permanent corrective actions.

Maintain asset registers, maintenance schedules, critical spares lists, and maintenance KPIs.

Provide hands‑on technical support for complex mechanical, electrical, and process‑related issues.

Optimise extrusion and compounding machinery performance in collaboration with production and process teams.

Oversee installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new equipment and production lines.

Work closely with OEMs and service providers for specialised support and improvements.

Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team (artisans, technicians, planners).

Ensure effective shift coverage and skills development through training and mentoring.

Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, controlling costs without compromising safety or reliability.

Optimise spare parts inventory and vendor contracts.

Identify opportunities for cost savings through improved maintenance practices and reliability engineering.

Requirements

Minimum 5–8 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

At least 3 years in a leadership or management role.

Proven hands‑on experience with: Extrusion lines and Polymer compounding processes.

Must be willing to perform standby duties.
