Duty Manager
Big 5 safari lodge situated in the heart of Zululand, just north of Hluhluwe, is looking for a Duty Manager- They pride themselves on creating an intimate, relaxed, and family-friendly safari experience.They are looking for an energetic, hands-on Duty Manager to join our close-knit lodge team.

Position Overview
The successful candidate will oversee daily lodge operations, manage staff, and interact closely with international and local guests. This role is perfect for a self-motivated hospitality professional who can work independently, solve problems under pressure, and manage front-of-house activities smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations: Coordinate guest check-ins, check-outs, and hosting responsibilities.
  • Guest Relations: Address queries and maintain top-tier customer service standards.
  • Staff Management: Supervise, support, and lead the local team.
  • Admin & Stock: Assist with daily administrative duties, stock counts, and invoicing.
  • Daily Flow: Ensure seamless communication between the kitchen, housekeeping, and field guiding teams.


Requirements
Requirements & Experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a similar role within a lodge or hospitality environment.
  • License: Valid South African Driver’s License.
  • Attributes: Confident, professional, friendly demeanour, and eager to take initiative.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, basic computer literacy, and high attention to detail.
  • Certification: First Aid Level 1 certificate is highly preferred.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work and live happily within a small, close-knit team environmen
