Business Unit Manager, Steelpoort

Job Description

Driving business development within the chrome and platinum mining sector

Identifying and implementing training and development initiatives

Ensuring all operations meet company standards, safety requirements, and KPIs

Leading and managing branch operations to achieve revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence

Managing projects within budget and agreed timelines

Maintaining and growing key client relationships within mining operations

Ensuring on-site technicians effectively service key accounts

Ensuring optimal utilization of all resources, including technical teams and field service staff

Engaging with customers and suppliers to resolve operational and service issues

Supporting and driving technical sales performance

Managing financial performance, budgets, and profitability 

Qualifications & Skills 

Proven mining experience (ESSENTIAL)

Experience in a management role within mining, engineering, or construction environments

Experience working with mining clients (chrome/platinum preferred)

Strong technical understanding of: Diesel Engines, Motor Engineering, Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) machines and engines 

Hands-on experience with TMM equipment such as: Load-Haul-Dumpers (LHDs), Underground dump trucks, Drill rigs, Roof bolters, Utility/service vehicles

Experience managing technical teams and field service operations

Valid driver's license
