Procurement Assistant, Mahikeng

We are currently seeking a highly organized and proactive Procurement Assistant to join our dynamic team based in the North West province. The successful candidate must have experience working in a fast-paced procurement environment, preferably within the mining, earthmoving machinery, or heavy equipment parts industry.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the procurement and sourcing of mining and earthmoving machinery parts, equipment, and operational consumables

Procure parts for heavy earthmoving equipment and mining machinery

Process purchase orders and follow up on supplier deliveries

Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation

Liaise with suppliers, technicians, and internal departments regarding procurement requirements

Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures

Monitor stock levels and assist with replenishment planning

Obtain quotations and compare pricing to ensure cost-effective purchasing

Support the procurement team with administrative and operational functions

Assist with supplier relationship management and performance monitoring

Ensure urgent breakdown and operational parts are sourced efficiently to minimize downtime

Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field

2–5 years’ experience in a procurement or purchasing environment

Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain procedures

Extensive experience within the mining industry, earthmoving machinery industry, or heavy equipment parts procurement environment

Knowledge and understanding of earthmoving machinery components and mining equipment parts

Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment

Strong administrative and organizational skills

Computer literate with experience using procurement systems and Microsoft Office

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Advantageous

Experience procuring parts for excavators, dump trucks, drill rigs, loaders, crushers, and other earthmoving or mining equipment

Exposure to workshop or mining operations environments

Experience dealing with OEM and aftermarket suppliers
