Take the lead on Barrow’s rail projects – QS with civils experience needed!

Quantity Surveyor– Rail / Civils Barrow-in-Furness (Office-Based) 12-Month Contract (Likely Extension) We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our client, supporting the commercial delivery of rail infrastructure projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work across construction and civil engineering projects, taking full responsibility for commercial management from tender stage through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

Manage projects commercially from tender through to final account

Prepare and price tender estimates (small and large projects)

Maintain and manage costing systems and reporting

Liaise and negotiate with clients on variations and contractual matters

Conduct site visits to measure works and assess new tenders

Review project documentation, identifying risks and requirements

Prepare monthly payment applications and resolve discrepancies

Work closely with internal teams and client-side QS professionals

Requirements

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, civils, or infrastructure

Experience working on rail projects (e.g. Network Rail environments)

Strong background in estimating, tendering, and programme management

Solid knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts

Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and commercial priorities
