ABOUT THE ROLE Calvary Mater Newcastle Operating Theatres are seeking Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team to provide excellent person-centred care to our surgical patients. We are seeking Registered Nurse with experience in either Anaesthetics, Scrub Scout and/or Recovery. The successful candidate will possess the skill to provide comprehensive care to our patients. You will also have a commitment to support colleagues and assist in maintaining a safe, effective and a fulfilling work environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Performs comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients. Continuously assesses/monitors patients’ condition. Notifies the medical officer of changes as appropriate. Identifies and implements discharge-planning requirements. Able to plan appropriate care in consultation with patient and multidisciplinary team. WHAT YOU BRING Recent demonstrated experience in a perioperative role. Relevant post registration qualification (or equivalent experience). Demonstrated initiative and the desire to continually improve patient care. Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Registered Nurse authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Able to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
